Lyrics

You’ve been hurt

You fell on your knees

A scrape it lasts a day

Did someone say a scar might stay

Hanging ’round

For five years

It comes at quite a cost

Was it somewhere you got so lost?

Everything will be alright

We’re gonna make it through the morning light

Did someone somewhere tell you you’re not alone?

Don’t you cry

Friends and lovers never coming back

Oh sometime

You’ll remember what you’ve had

Look around

Keep what you need not everything you want

Oh somethings

Just cannot be taught

Everything will be alright

We’re gonna make it through the morning light

Your world is moving slowly

And the words don’t come out right

When you’re cold and tired

And you can’t put up a fight

Did someone somewhere tell you you’re not alone?

APPROVED ARTIST BIO

Auld Spells makes psychotropic sounds laced with lush dreampop undertones. The Edinburgh-based five piece is made up of lead singer and guitarist Tommy Danbury, formerly of the Los Angeles bands Lower Heaven and Magic Mirror; keyboardist Rob Spellsman; drummer Peter Wilson of the band Rome and Murray and Sandy Raeburn of the Raeburn Brothers on guitar and bass. The band’s reverb-drenched melodies, influenced by Beach House, Neil Young, and Slowdive, brew a luminous tonic for strange times.

The band has been busy in the studio waiting for venues to reopen and will be releasing a song a month for the foreseeable future. Their track Something Something Somewhere, released August 7th, is a song about shedding a false nostalgia by letting go of the things we never had and do not need. The tune comes in two guitar driven parts. The first being a more traditional verse/chorus style lead by a ragged melody. The second part is a dreamscape of sweeping guitars designed to lift you off the ground and drop you gently into a new unknown.

Their next song, The Moon, will be released along with a video September 4th, 2020 on all streaming platforms.
